Here I explain why we do not recommend you attempt to remove stolen content yourself, for safety and security reasons.
During the DMCA takedown process, the person submitting the request has to add their personal details such as name, address, telephone number and email address. Without these details, requests cannot be fulfilled and will usually be ignored by the recipient.
Filling out personal details leaves the submitter vulnerable to hackers who intend to misuse personal data. Remember, we are dealing with pirates!

Also, and very importantly, many of the sites we encounter contain malware which can cause significant damage to your computer or smartphone.
These malware can be viruses that hack in and steal your personal data and location, along with any passwords and bank details you have saved.
It is natural to want to open a link where you can see you are being hosted against your will. But it is highly risky and on a first glance it is difficult to tell which sites are infected and which are not. It is just not worth the headaches.
For these reasons we advise you to have us handle the process as your authorised representative and remove stolen content on your behalf. This way we keep your real identity and location private, and help maintain your personal safety and cyber security.
